I first came across this website on Twitter (follow me tweetie baby… @SamLam_89). They are a website which is relatively new I’m guessing and really needs to increase their exposure. Because once I actually discovered it I think the thought behind the website is AMAZING!! Something we all need in our lives.
www.loveclothesshopping.co.uk aim to change the way you shop. They have a ‘Shape Calculator’ on their website which means we don’t need to wait for Gok Wan to tell us what shape we are. Then they style you according to what shape you are with clothes that are available on the high street. They also have ‘Offers’ on the website which keeps you up to date with all the latest discounts available on the high street, a ‘Fashion Tips’ section which teaches you how to dress for your shape and how to pull off the latest trends.

The ‘Shape Calculator’:
The way this works is that you select your bust, waist and hips measurements in order for your shape to be found. I would love for you all to try the calculator and tell me what you think. It seems very simple and easy to use but something is telling me that there should be more taken into consideration or maybe not I mean Gok Wan just needs to take one look at you for him to decide what you are, so maybe it is that simple and easy.

The ethos behind what this website is trying to do can be life-changing for the way we shop and can potentially change the way we think about our bodies. As mentioned in my previous blog post about size: http://samlam89.wordpress.com/2011/02/11/fashions-biggest-problem-size/#more-91 it is noticeable that we are seeing a change in the way celebrity stylists want us to shop however it is hard when you don’t have Gok Wan or Trinny and Susannah around you 24/7. It is easy to get lost in all the shapes and sizes… this is where loveclothesshopping.com comes in brings a new lease of life to the fashion industry and to us as consumers.
There are many ‘Style Quizzes’ out there these days and I prefer this one better because I feel like it is not trying to predict your style as you can pick what pieces you like and also they are not a subscription service. Clothes are selected from your shape and not your style preference. Also as they are not a clothes shop, I love that they aren’t trying to sell you their own designs or own products. All items can be bought on the high street, which is easily accessible and most sites ship worldwide. However, they could increase the number of people using the site by including more online and high street chains and an increased selection of clothes, shoes and accessories.
I feel like the website to me is still a working process. They need to increase exposure on the site and give a bigger push for what they are trying to do to the industry, because this message is a powerful one and if it works it can be HUGE!!! I do think that the website needs to change the way they portray themselves and operate like an average high street chain which holds different brands of clothes. Such as having a ‘New in’ section on the site, maybe a sale section, clothes could be organised according to trends: ‘Going Out’, ‘Christmas’, ‘New Years’. Overall I love the website, what it represents and what it aims to do but it does need a few adjustments, improvements and it has great potential to change all things shopping.I would recommend this website to everyone even as it is now, in order for you to get an insight into what shape you are and to learn fashion tips and see their offers they have available on the site. I love love love….
